Montreal Castle 12th 16th century

Tourist sites and museums

This castle’s medieval and renaissance architecture is unique to the area. It is open to the public all year long except in February. During the summer there are guided tours and medieval activities. Documentation in English.

The 12th century dungeon, the courtyard and indoor staircase, the suspended balcony, the large halls and fireplaces make this monument a jewel in the original band of fortresses built around Largentière. At the entrance, you will meet the landlord of Montreal Castle: a builder who spent the last 26 years renovating the castle by himself!
