The bees Farm

Cultural and sporting activities

Experience something unique, authentic, and delicious at the heart of a beekeeping farm: explore the honey house, enjoy tastings, discover the beekeeper’s work through films and exhibitions, observe the bees in glass hives, and try your hand at beekeeping. All of this in a historic Ardèche farmhouse full of character.

Discover and Explore the World of Bees! Élodie, Nicolas and their team welcome you to an exceptional place, set in the heart of nature just beside the Gorges de l’Ardèche Nature Reserve. Dive into a fascinating profession—from beekeeping to the harvesting of precious nectar! Enjoy a warm and friendly moment as you visit the honey house, then let yourself be guided through a commented tasting that reveals the full richness of the Ardèche terroir. A Unique Immersion into the Life of Bees Observe the intimate life of bees in the Gallery of Living Hives, a unique space where fully glazed hives allow you to watch the colony up close. Through four films produced on the farm, discover: daily life on the estate, the diversity of Ardèche landscapes, the behind-the-scenes work of beekeepers, and the complexity of raising bees and queens. The final film takes you on a breathtaking journey along cliff sides, showcasing the honey hunters of Nepal—captured by photographer Éric Tourneret. An impressive photo exhibition, “The Genius of Bees”, also presents stunning images and the latest scientific insights into the functioning of bee colonies (by Éric Tourneret). Become a Beekeeper for a Day Experience a true Beekeeping Baptism, a total immersion available by reservation from age seven. Suit up, walk to a shaded apiary, and let yourself be amazed by the beauty and harmony of the bees’ world. Fun and educational activities are also offered, especially around glazed mini-hives and the discovery of precious beeswax. Local Products & Gifts The boutique features the full range of Ardèche honey produced on the farm, along with honey-based products: nougat, biscuits, soaps, candies—each crafted with the farm’s honey by the finest local artisans. You will also find a book corner for children and adults, beeswax candles, and a selection of gift boxes. Relax Under the Pines For your comfort, fresh drinks and artisan Ardèche ice creams are available, as well as delicious picnic baskets featuring high-quality local products, to enjoy on site. Shaded tables under the pine trees invite you to take a peaceful break during your visit. --- Élodie, Nicolas and their team are passionate about the world of bees and are eager to share that passion with every visitor. Through La Ferme des Abeilles and Les Ruchers de l’Ibie, which bring together 450 colonies across Ardèche, they offer a unique insight into the heart of a working beekeeping farm.
